Welcome  - for previous news check the Archive.

This campaign was formed to challenge myths about rape, and bring the truth and realities of rape back onto the public agenda. Since the launch in November 2002 we have been responsible for providing critical comment on a number of media related issues on rape.

BUY TRUTH MOUSE MATS!!!

Yes you can now buy the TAR postcard messages as mousemats!

We have opened a TARShop at www.spice.co.uk

The Spice.co.uk company produces and mails the goods and the Truth About Rape campaign gets one pound in profit for every item sold. So now you can support your favourite campaign and get some goodies at the same time!  As you can see from the photo here, we have one happy customer already - it will be priceless at the Antiques Roadshow in 2050! We want you to let us know if the quality and delivery are up to our usual high standards because we cannot control that but we want to make sure TAR members get a good service. We also want to let you know that there are some other 'shops' on the spice site which are really inappropriate and we have no connection with them. If you know of a similar site that has a feminist perspective (or simply doesn't accept such twaddle) please let us know and we will switch to them.

facebook

TAR now has a 'Facebook' site. All new updates and discussions will be on this Facebook site - come and join us.

For more statistical details see our Students page or check the Rape Crisis  page, BBC News or European Statistics and data charts by Liz Kelly and Linda Regan (2003), Child and Woman Abuse Studies Unit, London Metropolitan University.

We have been asked by a number of organisations for flyers about the campaign. A TAR member has put together a basic flyer which organisations can feel free to use. TAR Flyer.

Please check the website for information before contacting us because we are volunteers and we are getting overwhelmed with the amount of mail we get!
